He is also co-founder of Of One Heart, a local non-profit organization offering assistance to children with cleft and craniofacial problems.

Nationally, Dr. Brieden participates in a study club for orthodontists. As a team member, he and his colleagues skilled in plastic surgery and oral maxillofacial surgery share a special interest in the repair of clefts and craniofacial adnormalities—in effect, the renewal of health for these special patients. Away from the practice, Dr. Brieden spends time with his wife Dixie, and their four children, is involved with church activities, sponsors and has coached local baseball, soccer, lacrosse and hockey teams for youth and finds time for golf, fishing, and even plays hockey himself (with a mouth guard, of course).
